THE STATUS OF TRANSPORTATION SAFETY IN MAINE

The MTSC has published its first, multi-agency compendium of crash and other safety data that defines the major transportation safety issues facing our state today.

MTSC’s Data Committee identified focus areas to help make informed decisions on programs and activities affecting transportation safety in Maine.

Four priority crash topics were identified:

  • SEAT BELTS/PASSENGER RESTRAINTS

  • LANE DEPARTURE CRASHES

  • YOUNGER AND OLDER DRIVERS

  • AGGRESSIVE DRIVING
